Slimrat is a Linux download manager which can download files from the following online file hosting services: rapidshare, megaupload, metafire, easyshare, czshare, datahu, depozitshare, fastload, fastshare, filefactory, filehive, freakshare, hotfile, sharebase, youtube, zshare and many other including a direct download if there is no plugin available for a certain service.

Slimrat is lightweight, it can download multiple files and once and comes with both a GUI and a CLI. Another very interesting Slimrat feature is the automatic captcha solving based on an tesseract-ocr library.

Using Rapid8, there is no need to "sign out, delete cookies and reconnect with a different IP". It allows you to download any files shared and hosted on RapidShare, Megaupload, MegaShares, Easy-Share, MegaVideo, MegaPorn Video, NetLoad.in and Hotfile directly, by using premium accounts but you can use it from their website, for free.

The operation is very simple: you enter the URL of the file and press "Download", then a "Begin your download" button will be displayed and clicking it, you will start downloading you files without any other input from your side. This way, you get your files ready to download, no-code verification or further time loss.

Basically, what rapid8 does is download the files to their server and you download your files from rapid8 instead of Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc.

JDownloader, the open source, platform independent Rapidshare, Megaupload (and others) download application, has been updated to version 0.7 (7.569).

JDownloader simplifies downloading files from One-Click-Hosters like Rapidshare.com or Megaupload.com - not only for users with a premium account but also for users who don't pay. It offers downloading in multiple paralell streams, captcha recognition, automatical file extraction and much more. Of course, JDownloader is absolutely free of charge. Additionally, many "link encryption" sites are supported - so you just paste the "encrypted" links and JD does the rest.


The most important, noticeable change is that JDownloader 0.7 (7.569) is a lot faster than the previous versions. Another interesting change is that now it supports anti-captcha for more than 60 websites. Read on to see a list of other important changes.

Search 30 File Sharing Websites Simultaneously

LoadEvery is a search engine for RapidShare, MegaUpload and similar sites which currently includes 30 sites for file sharing. The search may take place simultaneously in all or only in the websites you select and you can filter the results by the type of content you want: mp3, torrent, doc, images and video.

Also, LoadEvery can be added into the list of search engines in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

LoadEvery is a free service and does not requre registration.

Megaupload Trick to Download Without Waiting (No Software Required)

I already talked about a Firefox addon called SkipScreen which allows you to download from Megaupload without waiting as if you had a premium account but here's a simple trick to do this without having to install anything.

This trick is very simple and all you need is Firefox browser: proceed as normally when you want to download a file, enter the famous captcha and when you reach the page with the timer that tells you to wait XX seconds before downloading, in your browser (Firefox), go to View > Page Style and select No Style. This way, the page will not load the stylesheet and you will have direct access to the download link. Now just click on the Download button:

BugMeNot for Websites that Require Registration [Firefox Addon]

photobucketFirefox extension BugMeNot integrates with the popular BugMeNot service to allow you to bypass mandatory web site registration by providing you with a username/password for the site you're visiting.

What that means is this addon will use usernames and passwords from BugMeNot and auto-fill them for you on websites such as megaupload.com, nytimes.com, washingtonpost.com and some other such websites.

Upload Mirrors, Another Service to Upload Files to Multiple Servers

Upload Mirrors is a website that lets you upload a file to multiple hosting services at once. You just have to choose the file from our computer and select the servers you want to upload.

Skip the Time Limit and Auto-Fill captchas for Megaupload

megaupload skip time-limitMegaupload is a file hosting service where many people host files and share the links (like rapidshare).

Most file hosting websites use captchas and time limits for non-premium users. The add-on MU Bundle for the web browser Firefox gets rid of the time limit at the Megaupload website. It will also initiate the download of the file automatically without user input. The process in its entirety looks like the following: The user opens a page on the Megaupload website that will initiate a file download. A captcha is displayed which has to be completed to process. Everything after this step becomes automatic thanks to the Firefox add-on. Please note that this addon is experimental and you will need to create an account on Firefox Addons to be able to install it.

You can also auto-fill captchas with a Greasemonkey user script called Megaupload auto-fill captcha.

I've tried many download managers for rapidshare and megaupload, but i like jDownloader the most.

jDownloader is a free, open-source, platform independent running completely on Java, which means it runs on any OS as long as Java is installed. It can download from rapidshare for both premium and free users. Additionally, jDownloader can work with many "link encryption" sites and can download videos from Youtube, Vimeo, clipfish video and Mp3 Download.

You can also add addons, such as:

-minimize to tray,
-Uqbiquity (from mozilla labs) addon,
-Shutdown - shuts down the system when done,
-Unrar - extract the archive after downloads are finished

jDownloader also suppors themes and has multiple language support.
