Ubuntu 13.10 Nautilus dark toolbar

The Ubuntu Light Themes - Ambiance and Radiance -, have been updated today in Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander with a fix for the GNOME 3 "symbolic toolbars". Applications that use such toolbars, like Nautilus 3.6+ for instance, now have a dark toolbar using the default Ubuntu theme.

Light Themes Evolved: Ambiance And Radiance With Many Improvements And Tweaks

Light Themes Evolved initially started as an Ambiance theme modification for Nautilus Elementary. Later on, it became a full package that brings fixes and improvements to both Ambiance an and Radiance themes.

Light Themes Evolved - Ambiance and Radiance - include improvements like an uniform dark toolbar and titlebar, elementary applications tweaks, better scrollbars for applications that don't support overlay scrollbars and lots more. The themes were ported to GTK3 a while back, but they didn't include my favourite "fix": a dark sidebar for Nautilus (Ambiance). This fix is, however, finally available in the latest version.

Ambiance And Radiance Themes Finally Ported To GTK3 [Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot Updates]

The Ubuntu "Light Themes" Ambiance and Radiance have finally been ported to GTK3. The new version has just been uploaded to the Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot repositories and it uses a new GTK3 engine called "Unico" (available in the Universe repository), especially designed for the Ubuntu Light themes.

Remember Borderless Elementary? It was quite a success and I'm not sure if that's where the Ubuntu devs got the idea from, but an update today in Ubuntu 11.04 removes the borders for the Ubuntu "Light" themes: Ambiance and Radiance, writes Neil Patel on his blog.

Ubuntu Light Themes 0.1.8 Update In Maverick Brings Fixes, Improves Menu Speed

The Ubuntu Light Themes - version 0.1.8 was released today (with a bit of a delay - these fixes were announced  a week ago on the Canonical Design blog)  and while it doesn't bring major changes, it improves the menu slowness (it seems the fix only improves the situation but does not completely solves it - see the comments on this post) and fixes bad contrast between text and background.
