And here it is: with the Maverick User Interface freeze coming in 2 days, the first update to the Humanity Icon Theme in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat. Well, in fact there was another update a while back to the ubuntu-mono icons, but the only change was the new controls for the sound indicator.

The old color didn't match the new branding, but it really doesn't seem like the new one matches the branding either. Hopefully this won't be the last change to the folder icon color.

You can download the new icons from HERE (if you're using Lucid, simply run "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade" and you'll get the new icons).

The Humanity Icon Theme got a really nice update in Ubuntu Lucid today which brings integration with the new branding (purple that is) as well as a new Banshee monochrome icon for the panel.

To install the Ellanna theme in Ubuntu, after adding the Bisigi Project PPA repository (how-to links for Ubuntu Jaunty and Karmic in the beginning of the post), simply run the following command in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install ellanna-theme

The Humanitarian toolbar icons are some great icons you can use with the Humanity theme in Ubuntu Karmic.

The icons in the Humanitarian Toolbar Icons pack include: calculator, convert, find, Firefox, net tools, notepad, OpenOffice.org Calc Impress and Writer, Skype, system monitor, terminal and Virtualbox.

You will find installation instructions inside the "Humanitarian toolbar icons Instructions.pdf" file which comes with the Humanitarian Toolbar Icons archive.

It appears the Humanity Panel Icons Pack has been updated, and now you can simply run a script to install all the icons (I wasn't awate of this, thanks rkv!).

Humanity Panel Icons pack includes the following icons: Printing, Shutter, Tomboy, Banshee, File Operations, Rhythmbox, Deluge, Fusion-Icon, Transmission, Gwibber, Emesene, Lifera, PolicyKit/Seahorse, Exaile, gPodder, Gwget, CellWriter, Gnome-Do, Specto, HPLIP, Brasero, Weather, Deskbar-Applet, Firefox. And more are expected.

One note: you MUST extract the downloaded archive inside your home folder, for the script to run.

Then, simply open a terminal and type:

./Humanity-Icons/Install_Humanity_Script.sh

./Humanity-Icons/Install_Humanity-Dark_Script.sh
