elementary OS Luna Video: 15.07.2012 Unstable Build


We haven't posted about elementary OS Luna in a while, so I though I'd make a short video with the latest build, so you can see how the desktop looks like lately and the elementary apps progress.

Install The New Ubuntu WebApps Technology In Ubuntu 12.04 Or 12.10

Ubuntu WebApps is a new feature that will be integrated with Ubuntu by default, starting with Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal. This new technology allows websites such as Gmail, Grooveshark, Last.fm, Facebook, Google Docs and many others to be tightly integrated with the desktop (Unity): they will support HUD, you'll receive desktop notifications, quicklists, ALT-TAB support and they will integrate with the messaging menu:

Nautilus 3.5.4 has been uploaded to the Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal repositories today, bringing some very important changes like a new GNOME 3 style toolbar, new "gear" menu, symbolic monochrome icons for the sidebar and others.

A New Interface For Handling Third-Party Drivers Has Landed In Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal

A recent update in Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal has replaced Jockey (used for handling third-party drivers), with a new "Additional Drivers" tab in software-properties and "ubuntu-drivers-common", which is "simpler and more robust than Jockey".

Linux Deepin is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu that comes with a highly customized GNOME Shell as the default desktop environment and with some applications that aren't available in other Linux distributions.

RuneScape is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) web based online game. The game can run in a browser, but there are also downloadable clients for Windows and Mac, but not for Linux. Disable Global Menu Autohide Behaviour In Ubuntu 12.04

The Unity Revamped PPA created by Isaac Joseph, which provides Unity with two patches: Dodge Windows and minimize/unmaximize on click for the Unity launcher, has been updated yesterday with some fixes which aren't yet available for the Unity package from the official Ubuntu 12.04 repositories as well as a new patch that brings a much requested feature: an option to disable the application menu (global menu) autohide behaviour.
