The Equinox GTK themes is a pack of (now) 5 beautiful themes created by Tiheum (who's also the Faenza icons author). Check out our previous posts about the Equinox GTK themes: here and here.

An update to the Equinox PPA brings 3 new great looking themes: Equinox Evolution Dawn, Dusk and Midnight (which complete the Equinox Evolution series along with the regular Equinox Evolution and Equinox Evolution Light) as well as an updated Equinox GTK engine. The Equinox Evolution Midnight theme is experimental because "Gnome doesn't support dark themes well" says Tiheum.

Each GTK theme comes with a Metacity theme with either rounded or squared buttons.

(Equinox Evolution Dawn)

Atolm is a new dark GTK theme created by SkiesOfAzel (who is also behind the very popular Orta GTK theme) in collaboration with MonkeyMagico who's mockups were the inspiration for this new theme.

Equinox is a new GTK2 engine already used by themes such as Elementary. The relatively new GTK2 engine has been recently added to the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat official repositories and has it's own Ubuntu PPA which, besides the Equinox GTK engine also holds a few great themes (click for screenshots).

Yesterday, a new version of the Equinox GTK2 engine has been released - 1.30, and with it, 2 new themes called "Equinox Evolution" and "Equinox Evolution Light" (they are complete with GTK and Metacity themes) are available in the PPA:

Equinox is an amazing new GTK engine which is already used by the Elementary GTK theme and many others.

Until now, Equinox was only available to download via Gnome Look but starting today, both the Equinox GTK engine and the themes developed by the GTK engine creator (Equinox themes and Equinox Ubuntu themes) got their own PPA so you can stay up to date with the latest version.
