MATE Dock Applet Gets Unity-Like Progress Bar And Badge Support

MATE Dock Applet is a MATE Panel applet that displays running application windows as icons. The applet features options to pin applications to the dock, supports multiple workspaces, and can be added to any MATE Panel, regardless of size and orientation.

Mate Dock Applet Unity Badge Progress Bar Support

The latest MATE Dock Applet 0.74, released today, includes a feature requested by some of you: it can now display Unity-like progress bars and badges on top of the icons, for applications that support this. You can see this in action, in the screenshot above, for Transmission.

MintMenu PPA Updated For Ubuntu 11.04 (Classic Ubuntu Session)

MintMenu Ubuntu

As you probably know, we maintain a MintMenu Ubuntu PPA. Because of some changes in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, MintMenu failed to work but a package which fixes this was uploaded to Linux Mint 11 so I've uploaded this version to the WebUpd8 MintMenu PPA.

MintMenu is one of the best menu applets for Linux and is developed by the Linux Mint team. The applet doesn't work in Unity but I'm sure those who are still using the classic Ubuntu desktop session will find it useful.

Network, Memory And CPU Usage Indicator For Ubuntu: System Load Indicator

System Load Indicator Ubuntu

Yet another much requested AppIndicator is now available for Ubuntu 11.04: an indicator to display the network speed as well as CPU, Memory usage and more called System Load Indicator (or "Indicator Multiload").

This is a port of the original System Monitor GNOME Panel applet to appindicators and Vala. This means it has most of the features the System Monitor Applet had: display processor, memory, network, swap space, load or hard disk activity, change the colors and so on using an Ubuntu indicator..

Indicator Applet To Mount CD / DVD Images: Mounty

Mounty

Mounty is a very simple indicator applet you can use to mount CD / DVD images. It supports ISO, IMG, BIN, MDF and NRG and besides mounting, it can also burn the images to a CD/DVD.

Mounty can also remember the mounted images and add it to startup with a single click. It's a very simple but effective little indicator applet.

Recent Notifications Applet Can Now Blacklist Applications

Recent Notifications applet

Recent Notifications is a GNOME applet that collects recent messages sent with libnotifiy to a notification daemon, such as notify-osd.

Just one day after we wrote about the Recent Notifications applet, it got a cool new feature but we never got to write about it because of the many news that came up this week.

Never Miss A NotifyOSD Notification With "Recent Notifications" GNOME Applet

Don't you wish you could see the recent NotifyOSD notifications? I know I would - for instance I use a nifty application called Android Notifier that displays NotifyOSD notifications on my computer when I get a new SMS or call on my Phone, but if I'm doing something else when that happens and I miss the notification, there's no way to see it on my computer. And that's just an example, there are many other applications which display NotifyOSD notifications that you might like to see later on in case you've missed the actual notification (like some Twitter clients, etc.).
