Google has made available a demo page on YouTube made using HTML5, the future of HTML (HyperText Markup Language) a few days after Dailymotion did the same, but only for a video:

Please note: To view this page of YouTube need the latest beta of the following browsers: Firefox 3.5 or Safari 4.0 and probably Opera 10.
This means that you will no longer need a plugin such as Flash Player or Silverlight and videos will be played with HTML 5 video player which uses JavaScript, CSS3, SVG filters and PNGs, while the encoding is made using the open source video codec Ogg Theora.
