qBittorrent is a cross-platform BitTorrent client that comes with an integrated search engine, web interface, sequential download support, bandwidth scheduler, RSS support and other useful features.

qBittorrent 3.0.0 was released yesterday, bringing improved performance and various optimizations along with some UI changes and new features:
  • a new torrent addition dialog
  • WebUI: support for adding multiple local torrents at once
  • improved style for the left panel
  • ability to choose the save path when using magnet links

The new "add torrent" dialog

Also, with the release of version 3.0, qBittorrent no longer supports libtorrent 0.14.x and Qt 4.5.

Install qBittorrent 3.0 in Ubuntu

To install the latest stable qBittorrent in Ubuntu 11.10 or 12.04, use the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hydr0g3n/qbittorrent-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install qbittorrent

The above PPA provides qBittorrent for older Ubuntu releases too, but not the latest qBittorrent 3.0.

For other Linux distributions, Windows or Mac OS X, get qBittorrent via its download page.
