Minitube

Minitube is an application that lets you watch YouTube videos without Flash Player.

Minitube 1.6 has been released with a new feature that lets you share videos on Facebook, Twitter or email as well as bug fixes:
  • Find the missing parts of a video
  • Fixed bug with very short videos not playing
  • Fixed a security issue with temporary files and made sure temp files are always deleted

Minitube is available for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux and you can download it from HERE (there are only 32bit binaries for Linux).

To make it easier to install in Ubuntu, the latest Minitube 1.6.0 is available in the main WebUpd8 PPA (for both 32bit and 64bit) so you can install it using the commands below:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install minitube
