Ubuntu / Linux news and application reviews.

Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, the first maintenance update to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS has been released. This includes server, desktop and alternate CDs for both i386 and amd64 architectures. This version comes with numerous bug fixes and updated packages so that fewer updates are downloaded upon installing Ubuntu.

A complete list of post-release updates will be made available tomorrow at THIS wiki page.

If you've installed Ubuntu 10.04 (even an alpha version) and you constantly upgraded, you already have 10.04.1; this release aims to make it easier for new Ubuntu installs so there is no reason to install Ubuntu all over again.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS will be supported with maintenance updates and security fixes until April 2013 on desktops and April 2015 on servers.
