pitivi 0.3.14

PiTiVi 0.13.4 codename “Cabernet d’Anjou” has been released and it includes some very interesting changes:
  • video mixing/transparency support
  • icon view in source list
  • smoother scrolling
  • modeless splitting
  • seek on click
  • faster waveforms
  • zoom slider
  • UI beautifications
  • Speed optimisations
  • dbus/hal dependency now optional
  • translated in 30 languages



PiTiVi is a free, intuitive and featureful movie editor for the Linux desktop which has been included in the default Ubuntu Lucid applications. Version 0.13.4 is already available in the Lucid repositories, so to upgrade to the latest version, simply run the following command in a terminal:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade


Ubuntu Karmic users can install PiTiVi 0.13.4 by adding the GStreamer developers PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gstreamer-developers/ppa


Then you need to do an upgrade to get the latest GStreamer packages required by PiTiVi 0.13.4 and finally install PiTiVi:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo apt-get install pitivi
