Robin Wauters, from the TechCrunch team, has recently discovered a so called 'minor tweak': the title tags on Twitter that once used to say 'Twitter/ username' it is now modified in 'Full name + username on Twitter'. It means that instead of Twitter/ webupd8 tag that used to appear until yesterday, it has now changed to this:
This 'minor tweak' has a pretty big impact on how high Twitter pages will be ranked in search engines from now on.
We have tried it for our own website.
Robin Wauters says he has tested a few users who've had a public profile for more than two years [which, by the way, isn't our case], and nearly all of them have their Twitter profile linked in the top 5 results when performing a Google search.
