OpenOffice 3 just missed the cut-off for Ubuntu Intrepid. But you can still install OpenOffice 3.0 (OO.o3) from it's PPA repository.

To install it for Ubuntu Hardy, add the following repository (System > Administration > Software Sources, Third Party Software tab, click "Add"):

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/r0lf/ppa/ubuntu hardy main

And add the key using this command (in a terminal):
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys B72FD7EC

Then, in a terminal, type:
sudo apt-get update
and then:
sudo apt-get upgrade

openoffice 3 ubuntu intrepid

Update: the openoffice-pkgs PPA maintainer has removed all the OpenOffice packages. I have found, however, another PPA with packages for Ubuntu Hardy so I have updated the post with this PPA (which is unfortunately only available for Ubuntu Hardy).
