Ubuntu / Linux news and application reviews.

last.fm music downloaderFree music zilla claims to be the first tool specialized for social music downloading which enables you download free music from IMEEM ™, Last.fm ™, Pandora ™, Myspace, eSnips ™, Mog ™, iJigg ™, Radio.blog.club ™ and almost all social music services.

I don't know how legal this application is but it seems to be running for some time now and it's still working. Here is their legal note:

Free Music zilla is not affiliated with any web services, nor do we encourage violating any license agreements. We offer this list only for compatibility purposes.

How it works: Free Muzic Zilla sits in the background and allows you to snatch up songs from the likes of Myspace, Pandora, Last.fm, etc. Play a song from any of those websites (last.fm, myspace, etc) in the browser of your choice (it supports all web browser like IE, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon, Avnta, Netscape!), then select the grabbed music then click 'Download' button. The music will be downloaded to your computer. Be aware: download it before 'Leech Timeout' count down to 0 and keep the music is playing when downloading.

You can read some tutorials on how to download the music (in case you didn't understand already), here.

Please note that the Last.fm and most websites' music file is in FLV format. You can download a flv player here.
