The waiting is over for some Twitter addicts. Twitter employee Nick Kallen has tweeted today, a month after the official announcement has been made, that "25% of all users have lists". Thanks to TechCrunch for pointing it out and for the screenshot!

So yes, some lucky people can now curate lists of Twitter accounts, thus being able to follow only people who are truly interesting for them. We haven't received one yet.

What is interesting about these lists?

Lists are public by default, but can be made private, and the lists you created are linked from your profile.

Also, other Twitter users can then subscribe to your lists, according to Nick Kallen, so if somebody creates a very useful link with people that tweet things you are interested in, you can follow that entire list.

Update: Nick Kallen has just announced that about 50% of the Twitter users should have lists by now.
